When People Need Help, They Need Somewhere to Turn.
At Lights Back On, we believe that no individual or family should have to face a difficult circumstance without knowing where to turn.
Our own experience taught us that lesson.
Today, that experience has grown into a larger mission.
Lights Back On is building its future as a 501(c)(3) Information & Referral (I&R) and Resource Navigation organization, connecting individuals and families with trusted resources, community organizations, assistance programs, and support services.
But connecting people to help requires more than compassion.
It requires infrastructure.
Behind every resource we identify, every referral we make, every partnership we develop, and every person we help navigate toward assistance is a team working behind the scenes to keep the system moving.
That's why we're launching Power the Core.
What Does "Power the Core" Mean?
Power the Core is our effort to strengthen the foundation that allows Lights Back On to serve our community effectively.
We are building the systems and resources necessary to:
● Maintain an accurate and trusted community resource database
● Connect individuals and families with appropriate services
● Develop and manage referral partnerships
● Follow up on referrals and measure outcomes
● Conduct community outreach and education
● Maintain our website and digital resource tools
● Recruit and coordinate volunteers
● Develop sustainable programs
● Build relationships with churches, nonprofits, businesses, and other community partners
The stronger our foundation becomes, the more people we can reach.
Building the Infrastructure for Resource Navigation
As Lights Back On grows, so does the need for reliable tools and systems. Our priorities include strengthening:
Technology
Computers, software, communications tools, data systems, and the technology needed to maintain our resource-navigation operations.
Our Resource Network
Researching, verifying, organizing, and maintaining information about community resources so that people can find accurate and relevant assistance.
People
Developing the volunteer and staffing capacity needed to respond to requests, maintain partnerships, conduct outreach, and support our growing mission.
Community Outreach
Helping more people learn that Lights Back On exists and creating relationships with organizations that can connect people to our services.
Accountability & Impact
Building systems that allow us to track referrals, follow up appropriately, measure outcomes, and demonstrate the difference our work is making.
Organizational Sustainability
Covering essential nonprofit operating expenses that allow us to remain compliant, accessible, secure, and prepared to serve our community.
